For a +70m MY we are looking for a 2nd Officer. Must have OOW 3000 minimum. The yacht is currently in the Middle East. In the winter it travels to the Indian Ocean. Good salary and leave on offer. In Palma de Mallorca, immediately available to step on board. I feel at ease delivering beyond expectation results under pressure. I love the sea.
Attentive to owner’s wishes, I am used to taking care of group of guests; easy blending as part of teams and smooth/effective leading them; organized (as only experience teaches you), I come from the busy and demanding live aboard scuba diving industry.
In 2019 I sailed as 2nd Officer on board the square-rigged tall ship “Galeon Andalucia”, during her west of Europe’s summer tour, and in the delivery of Superyacht M/Y “Vava”, from Male (Maldives) to Palma de Mallorca (Spain). I also sailed on board the Tall Sailing Training Ship “Älva”, in her delivery crossing from Tenerife to Waterford (Ireland); and another, with a 3 and a half month’ epic delivery, as Mate, from Esbjerg (Denmark) to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands with M/Y “Grinna”. Before that, I also served during 8 months with the Spanish SAR/Oceanic tug “Miguel de Cervantes”, with plenty of action in the Canary Islands; 2 months with the 4983GT Spanish Hospital Ship “Esperanza del Mar” in the North Atlantic and Bay of Biscay.
Trip Director/ Dive Supervisor, Scuba Diving Instructor (900+ certifications issued to date with way over 6000 dives under my belt, in many challenging conditions); I took part 4 years in the refit of Pro Dive Cairns’ three scuba diving purpose built live aboard yachts; Mate, Lead Deckhand and underwater photographer/ cameraman in expedition scuba diving vessels; extremely able tender driver; I developed strong communication skills, working 5 years in Australia and Thailand; PADI and SSI scuba diving Instructor and medic first aid instructor in Honduras, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain and Cyprus.
Best student in my class, awarded with the 2016/17 Prize for my Bachelor’s Degree in Nautical Science and Maritime Transport, from the UNIOVI ESMCG (University of Oviedo - Spain - Merchant Navy Academy).
